Attention

“Before love there’s attention” ― Stephen T. Berg

Charlie Rose: If you had one last lecture, and it might be about being an African-American Women, or being a writer, it might be about all of it, what would you want to say to us?

Toni Morrison: I don’t think I’d talk about either of those things. I would like to say something, and I touched on it earlier, about how hard it is and how necessary it is, for us to become, and to remain, human… We know, deep down, what’s right, and what’s true, and what’s needed. We gotta get there, we just have to.

“The things that you feel most deeply, from the very bottom of your heart, will never decieve you in the slightest” ― Genzaburo Yoshino, How Do You Live?
